¨     Vision Document on Drug Control (2026–2029) was launched on 26 June 2026 in New Delhi.

¨     It provides a national roadmap for narcotics control in India, focusing on law enforcement, intelligence, precursor and synthetic drug control, demand reduction, rehabilitation, capacity building, and inter-agency coordination.

¨     The document was prepared through consultations with Central Government ministries, departments, and drug law enforcement agencies.

¨     It establishes a comprehensive policy framework to address drug supply chains, drug demand, treatment services, and rehabilitation systems.

The strategy is built on four strategic pillars:

1.     Enforcement, Intelligence and Operations

2.     Precursor and Synthetic Drug Control

3.     Demand Reduction and Rehabilitation

4.     Capacity Building and Coordination

These pillars cover drug interdiction, investigation, prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and coordination among agencies.The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) organised the 10th Apex-Level Meeting of the Narco-Coordination Centre (NCORD) on 26 June 2026, where the Vision Document was unveiled.The Narco-Coordination Centre (NCORD) is a national coordination mechanism that facilitates cooperation among Central and State agencies for effective narcotics control in India.
