Organisation (SCO) Women’s Forum 2026 was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, on
26 June 2026.

The forum brought
together SCO member countries to discuss women’s leadership, gender equality,
and women’s participation in social and economic life.
¨
The Shanghai Cooperation
Organisation (SCO) is a Eurasian intergovernmental organisation established in
2001.
¨
Its member states are
China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and
Uzbekistan.
¨
Union Minister for Women
and Child Development Annpurna Devi addressed the forum through a video
message.
¨
India highlighted its
Women-Led Development approach, focusing on women’s safety, nutrition, and
economic participation.
¨
India stated that over
100 million women are connected through more than 9 million Self-Help Groups
(SHGs) across the country.
¨
Under the Lakhpati Didi
initiative, more than 30 million women have achieved an annual household income
of at least ₹1 lakh.
¨
Mission Shakti is the
Government of India’s umbrella scheme for women’s safety, security, and
empowerment.
¨ Mission Poshan 2.0 is an integrated nutrition programme for women, adolescent girls, and children.
¨ Self-Help Groups (SHGs) are community-based collectives that provide savings, credit, livelihood support, and social empowerment to women.
