Nationwide pulse revolution was launched
from Amlaha in Sehore district
¨
A major shift in India's
agricultural policy began from a small town in Madhya Pradesh. On February 7,
2026, the nationwide Dal Revolution was launched from Amlaha in Sehore
district. On this occasion, the Mission for Self-Reliance in Pulses was
formally launched, aiming to eliminate India's dependence on imported pulses.
¨
This initiative sent a
clear message from the grassroots level that India will no longer be an
importer of pulses but will move towards becoming a global exporter, with
farmers at the center of policy-making.
¨
The nationwide Dal
Revolution was launched from the Food Pulses Research Institute (FLRP) in
Amlaha, Sehore district, Madhya Pradesh, under the chairmanship of Shivraj
Singh Chouhan.
¨ The National Pulses Consultation was attended by Union and State Agriculture Ministers, scientists, FPOs, seed companies, millers, and progressive farmers. Unlike previous policy meetings, this dialogue was field-based, not file-based.
¨ The roadmap for the Pulse Self-Sufficiency Mission was developed with direct participation of farmers, marking a historic step towards farmer-centric agricultural governance.
