¨     India’s seafood exports in FY 2025–26 (FY26) reached US$ 8.46 billion (₹73,890.46 crore).

¨     The total export volume during FY26 was 1,972,018 metric tonnes.

¨     The Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) confirmed the final FY26 figures on 1 June 2026.

¨     Earlier provisional data released on 21–22 April 2026 had estimated exports at US$ 8.28 billion.

¨     Frozen shrimp remained India’s largest seafood export item in FY26.

¨     It generated export earnings of US$ 5,624.48 million (₹49,037.93 crore).

¨     Frozen shrimp accounted for 66.52% of India’s total seafood export earnings in US dollar terms.

¨     The United States remained the largest importer of Indian seafood in FY26.

¨     Exports to the United States declined by 10.82% in rupee value and 14.22% in dollar value.

¨     Exports to China increased by 22.7% in value and 20.1% in volume.

¨     Exports to the European Union recorded strong growth, rising by 37.9% in value and 35.2% in volume during FY26.

¨     Product categories showing positive growth included frozen fish, squid, cuttlefish, dried marine products, and live products.

¨     In contrast, chilled products registered a decline.

¨     The FY26 performance highlights the strength of India’s seafood export sector and its expanding presence in major global markets.
