¨  India and China recently held the 35th meeting of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination (WMCC) on India–China Border Affairs in Beijing.

 The discussions focused on boundary delimitation, border management, confidence-building mechanisms, and cross-border cooperation.

¨     Both sides expressed satisfaction with the progress made in maintaining peace and stability along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

¨   They acknowledged that stability along the border is essential for the gradual normalization of bilateral relations.

¨     The Indian delegation emphasized the urgent need for an early meeting of the Expert-Level Mechanism on Trans-Border Rivers.

¨ Trans-border rivers were highlighted as an issue of high strategic and ecological importance.

¨     India and China agreed to actively prepare for the 25th round of Special Representatives (SR) Talks on the boundary question.

¨     China will host the upcoming Special Representatives' meeting.
