Government has extimated India's total food grain production of Kharif
crops at 173.33 million tonnes in this financial year.
¨ The first advanced estimates of production of
Kharif crops have been released by Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister
Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
¨ The production of rice is estimated to be
more than 124 million tonnes as per the first advance estimates for 2025-26.
¨ This estimate of rice is 1.73 million tonnes
more than Kharif season rice production of last year.
¨ It is estimated that total Kharif coarse
cereals production stands at 41.41 million tonnes.
¨ Kharif pulses production is projected to be
at 7.41 million tonnes.
¨ Among pulses, production of tur, urad and
moong is estimated at around 3.60 million tonnes, 1.20 million tonnes and 1.72
million tonnes, respectively.
¨
Sugarcane production and cotton production are estimated at 475 million
tonnes and at over 29 million tonnes.
