¨   Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT) started production of Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) at its Udyogamandal plant on 15 May 2026.

¨     The Kochi-based plant received approval for DAP production on 24 April 2026.

¨     The approval was granted under the Nutrient-Based Subsidy (NBS) Scheme.

¨     Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) is a phosphatic fertiliser.

¨     It is used in agriculture to supply nitrogen and phosphorus to crops.

¨     DAP is classified as a complex fertiliser.

¨     It contains more than one primary plant nutrient.

¨     FACT is an Indian Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU).

¨     The company was established in 1943.

¨     It functions under the administrative control of the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers.

¨     FACT is headquartered in Kochi, Kerala.

¨ The company produces complex fertilisers, straight fertilisers, organic fertilisers, biofertilisers, and imported fertilisers.

¨ The Nutrient-Based Subsidy (NBS) Scheme provides financial assistance to fertiliser manufacturers for specified nutrients.
