‘Country of the Year’ honour conferred on
India at BIOFACH 2026 in Germany

The prestigious ‘Country
of the Year’ title has been conferred on India at BIOFACH 2026, the world’s
leading trade fair for organic products, in Nuremberg, Germany.
¨
This designation marks
India's return to the center stage of global organic farming after 14 years.
¨
BIOFACH will continue until
the 13th of this month.
¨
Participation in the
world’s leading organic trade fair is being organised by Agricultural and
Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA).
¨
A 1,074 square-metre
India Pavilion has been set up to showcase the country’s organic strength.
¨
The pavilion hosts 67
co-exhibitors including exporters, Farmer Producer Organisations, and state
government bodies.
¨
Organic products such as
rice, spices, pulses, oilseeds, herbs, and essential oils are being displayed.
¨
Processed products like
mango puree, ginger, turmeric, and large cardamom are also being highlighted.
¨
Exhibitors from more than
20 States and Union Territories are participating in the pavilion.
¨ India’s agricultural diversity and leadership in organic farming are being showcased at the global platform.
¨ The recognition reinforces India’s position as a major global supplier of organic products.
