¨     Announcement followed the United Democratic Front (UDF) winning 102 out of 140 seats in the Kerala Assembly elections.

¨     He became the 13th Chief Minister of Kerala.

¨     Date of birth of V.D. Satheesan: 31 May 1964.

¨     He served as the Leader of Opposition in the Kerala Legislative Assembly (2021–2026).

¨     The Kerala Legislative Assembly is a unicameral legislature.

¨     Total strength of the Assembly: 140 members.

¨     Majority mark in the Assembly: 71 seats.

¨     The United Democratic Front (UDF) is led by the Indian National Congress.
